Happy Thursday Peeps!
I don't know about you, but I have had a rather stressful day!
My shorts wouldn't fit right, I'm trying to grow my hair out for the first time in a decade, and I have to wear a big-ass brace on my hand and wrist because of my arthritis. Needless to say, I was not much of a looker!
My makeup today, if I say so myself, worked like a dream!
My skin was left dewy and peachy-bronze, with a light wash of coral on my eyes. I also gave myself a little kitten eye in a coffee brown for some depth and lift. A little mascara and a swipe of Dior Creme de Gloss in 215, and that was all she wrote! Light, easy, and comfy is the name of the game in the summer, and this look is all of that!
Any easy-breezy makeup tips out there? I'd love to hear 'em!

Get the Best of Fall This Summer
Summer may have just begun, but I be thinking about fall makeup trends!
I do love corals, greens, and bronzes, however, my heart lies with a dark and mysterious face!
Fall is right up my alley!
I've found a few trends which are forward-thinking, but absolutely wearable right now! Love it!
Three of the biggest looks for fall 2012 are:
Altuzzura Photo:Imaxtree |
Geometric Eyeliner- This fall is all about a strong liner statement. Lanvin had a bold graphic cat-eye, while Altuzarra had a very sculptural look going on. This look could adapt to summer by simply changing the colour! Instead of inky black, go for violet, or an emerald green! Pretty!
Gucci Photo:Imaxtree |
Wine Coloured Lips- Shades of wine were all over the runways. At Bottega Venetta, the lip look was a deep merlot, worn with a taupe eye. Gucci had a cleaner face with a more burgundy shade of lippy. To make this work in July, just rub your ring finger on a dark lipstick bullet, then press the colour on your lips for a stained look. Sexy, but not too heavy!
Issa Photo:Imaxtree |
Flushed Cheeks- The goal for this cheek look is to seem "chapped" from the wind or the sun. Issa went with a feverish pink, while Rodarte had the feel of a left-over summer tan. How do you not love a strong cheek? A swipe of shimmery peachy-bronze on the lower part of the cheekbone is perfect at the beach, or in the city.
What makeup look do you rock all summer? Which trends are you anxious for in the fall?

Style Love: Purse Heaven!
Happiness, as it happens, comes in the shape of an ombre reptile print purse!
I saw this little piece of marvelous at Ricki's Clothing and HAD to show it to the world!
This clutch is a mix of caramel tones, with a (wait for it!) hot pink lining. How fab!
At $26.50 I'm going to suggest you run, not walk, for this one!
Alright Donna, enough talk. Get to the accessoty Porn!

Summer Suncare Secrets! (Shoot me now, I sound like Courtney Stodden)
Happy Weekend! I don't know about your neck of the woods, but where I am is scorching! We had temperatures of 40ish when humidity is factored in,for two days running, and the rest of the time has been 25-30, which is like mercy compared to the alternative. Don't get me wrong, I'm not really complaining. I'll take this any day and twice on Sunday over rain or the "s" word! (and I don't mean sex or snuggles!)
Here's something you don't know about me. I'm a pale baby! I start summer a shade of light blue! I have stumbled onto a few secret weapons that I swear by, and when I brought them out with me today I thought I should share with the class!
The best facial sunscreen I have ever used is the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Water-Light in SPF 60. This little bottle of wonderful is so comfortable to wear! It has a really fluid texture which goes on like a dream, and feels great even under makeup. I loathe the feeling of a thick sunscreen on my face on its own, let alone layered. I'd rather jab my eye out than wear an extra layer on my face in this heat, but, we have to do what we have to do and this makes life so much easier!
My new lip savior is the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF15 in "Rose". This spectacular balm has the creamiest, smoothest texture. (Can you tell I have a texture fetish?). It leaves the prettiest pink shade on the lips, while the SPF is perfect for summer days. It may not be enough for hanging by the beach, or the pool, but, for a drink on a patio it's perfect!
As for the other summer staple pictured, I have been sucked into Game of Thrones hook, line, and sinker! Show, books, it makes no difference!
Ahhh! I do love me some chill time!
I'd love to hear any summer must-haves you keep hidden!

Lovely Lily. The Lily Cole Collection for The Body Shop
Lately I'm in love with The Body Shop. The Body Butters have always made me a happy girl and the Aloe skin line is beyond fab.
In the last year however, I've started to develop certain feelings for their makeup line.
When I heard that Lily Cole was involved in the latest makeup collection, I had some butterflies happening! Could she be any cuter?
Could this collection be any cuter? It consists of a "Puff on Radiance" illuminating powder, a "Pearl Radiance" primer, two Lip and Cheek Domes, a Liquid eyeliner in "Violet", four shades of Hi-shine Lip Treatment, and a Shimmer Cubes palette.
So far, I've tried the Lip and Cheek Dome in "Pinch me Pink" and the Lip Treatment in "Go Play".
The Dome texture was creamy and smooth. The colour was a pretty cotton-candy pink and quite buildable. I think it would be tough for anyone with a darker or olive skintone, but if you're a fairer skinned girlie go for it! As a lip product the finish is like a cute little stain on its own, but some gloss softens it nicely. I would suggest a balm underneath, it could be a little drying.
As for the Lip Treatment, they have a really pretty shimmer to them. The finish is soft and healthy instead of in-your-face glossy and glittery. Oh, can we talk about the scent? Tropical Heaven!
The fact that the collection is 100% cruelty free is the icing on the cake. What the hell are fish scales doing on my face anyway? And Bug Shells? Really?
Needless to say, it's only a matter of time before the rest of these products follow me home! What can I say, they love me!
I have a few pictures of the products, and swatches in the post. Let me know what you think of these, or if you have any Body Shop loves of your own. I'd love to hear!
